Nothing beats the excitement of hands-on archaeology, and with the new digging season almost upon us, there is no time to lose.
If you’re interested in Roman Britain or looking to get out into the fresh air and discover who knows what, then join the Caistor Roman Project this Summer. This is a rare opportunity to get involved in practical archaeology.
Everyone is welcome, age isn’t a barrier, neither is fitness, though excavation tasks might include using a mattock, shovelling, barrowing, and manoeuvring buckets of spoil. If this sounds too much, join our support team, this might involve sieving, taking environmental samples, pot washing and much more.
If you want to gain experience either before heading off to university or putting into practice what has been studied in theory or simply want to try something different all you need is enthusiasm and a desire to get involved.
